Jesus doesn’t abandon, punish, or shame us for our grief; instead, he grieves with us. Jesus knows that hope and new life await us on the other side of our trials and tragedies, but he doesn’t rush our process; instead, he gives permission and presence on the way to the promise. Jesus is good, and his mercy endures forever. May he meet you right where you are so you may know you are never alone or abandoned. Listen now to learn more.

On the road to resurrection, Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead–a costly decision that prefigures Jesus' own path to the cross. But even though we know the end of the story, we cannot skip the hard parts. Before the miracle comes the praying, the suffering, the uncertainty, the longing, the grief. Jesus enters our human experience to redeem these parts of our stories, too.
In response to the great and costly love God demonstrates in the narrative of Lazarus, Mary, and Martha, the church today can have full confidence in God's power to save and desire to make himself known in our trials. That's why we can send for Jesus in our suffering, trust God's character when he feels far away, and have courage to choose compassion over comfort as we enter the suffering of others.

There is a song all Israel, all humanity, has been waiting to hear. We may have caught little whispers on the wind and went searching for it, or even tried to play it ourselves and given up. Yet it remains a song that is meant for us, and Jesus came to play it perfectly... But when we hear the music, how will we respond?

This Sunday, we celebrated a whole year of gathering together as All Saints Church! We gathered early for local donuts, coffee, and good music before heading upstairs to celebrate where we've been and cast vision for where we're going. Listen now to learn where we feel the Lord is leading us, how you can help us get there, and, most importantly, the kind of "love one another" people we are called to be along the way.

Buying oil is Jesus’ language for the costly decisions we make to pursue God’s presence and prepare ourselves for His return. Like the wise virgins in Jesus’ parable, we want to be a community that buys oil together and remains open to and ready for all the good things Jesus has for us, all the ways he wants to grow his kingdom in and through our lives. Join us on a journey through the Parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25 as we seek the face of the One who seeks us first.

When we behold the Lamb, we see the true definition of God's love and how different it is from the love we've experienced or show others. Yet Jesus gives a new command: love one another "as I have loved you." What kind of love is this? What does it require of us? And what is it rooted in? Listen now as Pastor Sonny Smith from Detroit Church offers a word we pray marks our community.

Only by abiding in Christ can we bear fruit that remains, because Jesus is the true source of all life. When we lean back into his love and surrender ourselves to God's process of making us more fruitful, which John 15 calls "pruning," we find that we can follow Jesus more fully and forever–not just a little bit and sometimes.

Jesus wants to show us what he's really like. Yet when he reveals himself to us, we are confronted with our misperceptions about him, and we have a choice to make: keep looking or look away. In Matthew 16 and 17, the disciples are confronted with their made-up messiahs as Jesus reveals this simple truth about his mission: the road to glory goes straight through the cross.
